Eligibility Criteria for GEU Ph.D admissions:
1)   Educational qualification:

To be eligible for admission into the doctoral program, the candidate should fulfill any of the following requirements like as candidates must have passed out Master’s Degree from any AIU/UGC/AICTE recognized University/ Institutions or any other qualification recognized as equivalent there to in the fields of study notified from time to time by the University.
A minimum of 55% marks or CGPA of 5.5 on a 10 point scale in the qualifying examination (50% marks or CGPA of 5.0 on a 10 point scale for SC/ST candidates). Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management or Administration awarded by the Indian Institutes of Management (IIM) or by any institution approved by AIU/UGC/AICTE will be considered equivalent to a Masters Degree
(1.1) If a candidate wants to take admission in Ph.D in engineering/technology in respective branch with 55% aggregate marks or equivalent, then he/she must have passed out M.Tech/MCA at regular basis. Distance education is not valid for these admissions.
OR
(1.2) Master’s for Ph.D in sciences/humanities/social sciences/management with 55% aggregate marks or equivalent.
2) Relaxation:
If we discuss about the relaxation which will give to candidates in eligibility requirements. Then, SC/ST/Physically handicapped/freedom fighters etc. will get 5% relaxation as per state by the Government of India/State Government.
So, the eligibility criteria of marks may be relaxed in the following cases like as the candidates are regularly appointed teacher with at least 5 years in GEU or in any recognized university/institution and has obtained at least 50% marks in postgraduate degree OR he/she have an industry experience of at least five years.
OR
The candidates submitted his/her research work/published research (in journals) work during registration.
OR
The candidates have done defense courses in Defense Technical Institutions (CME, MCTE and MCEME) reputed from National/State Research Departments.
3) Admission is based on:
(3.1) When candidates fulfills the requirements of minimum qualification.
(3.2) Performance in Interview especially for those who have qualified in GATE/SLET/YGC/CSIR (JRF) /M.Phil Examinations. ) Or those who belonging from research centers.
(3.3) Candidates must have qualified an entrance exam which is to be conducted by the GEU, Dehradun along with personal interviews.
(3.4) Candidates must have a healthy discussion about their research work during an interview.
(3.5) The candidates who have admitted to the Ph.D program, then he/she will renew their registration in every semester.
4) Fee Structure:
  • Entrance Examination = Rs. 500
  • Registration Fee:
  • GEU Enrolled students = Rs. 2,500
  • For new candidates = Rs. 3,000
  • Ph.D Tuition Fees = Rs. 5,000 per semester
  • Ph.D Thesis Submission Fee = Rs. 10,000
