GEU launches website and newspaper for media and mass communication







GEU Launches News PaperMedia and Mass Communication Department of Graphic Era University celebrates its Department Day “Open Frames 2015” which marked the launch of “Graphic Samvad” along with a photo exhibition, debate competition, photography competition, brochure and theatre.
GEU Newspaper LaunchDuring this event, the students of media and mass communication department Vidhushi Negi and Pooja Nautiyal hosted the event and other faculty members Ms. Manmeet kaur Tura, Ms. Taha Siddiqui, Ms. Himani Binjola, Mr. Vikram Rautela, Ms. Shivani Pant and Mr. Suvats Awasthi were also present during the event.

Newspaper Launch by GEUTherefore, while interacting with the students regarding traits of journalism, Harish Chandra Singh, the Resident Editor Amar Ujala said, those who can face the challenges will be the real survivors in the field, he advised the students to take inspiration from Bhagwat Geeta and take inspiration from the character of Arjun to fight all the odds and stand strong in difficult situations. A reporter belongs to none neither hates or loves anyone but it is the work he is dedicated to with an objective outlook, God has bestowed a reporter with special gift of honesty which takes him to new heights of honesty.”

“Journalism is a field where only stringent and determined individuals can survive and meet every day challenges with a smiling a face” added by him. Mr. Harish Chandra Singh also presented the medals to debate winners, Ankita jwala, Akshita and Mansi and also to photography contest winner Somnath Arora .

Newspaper by GEUPrior to this IAS officer Ms. Swati Bhaduria,SDM Mussoorie addressed the students of mass and media department and explained the role of media in public administration saying that “ When negative news is given more importance it demotivates the hardworking class of people including government officials and because of which their hardwork is not communicated to the larger audience.She also gave the students tips to prepare for Civil Services “ and she also addressed student’s questions.

Apart from this, Ms Swati Bhaduria also launched the student tabloid “Graphic Samvad” and also the photo exhibition along with Mr. Harish Chandra Singh and Prof. Subhash Gupta.

Thereafter, Prof Subhash Gupta,Head of the Department ,Media and Mass Communication Department speaking on this auspicious occasion and then he said,”When something good happens those who are affected do not acknowledge it but if handful of fifty people say something against the initiative than it becomes news. Therefore people with negative thoughts are responsible for not letting positive news to be acknowledged.”
